Orkney airspace hosts US military flyover

Two American B-52 bombers have been circling the airspace above Orkney this Wednesday, as tensions heighten over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. 

It has been reported nationally that a number of the military aircraft have been deployed to the UK from the US.

While this is officially part of a long-planned training exercise, there has been widespread speculation over the number of aircraft deployed, given the current circumstances internationally.
