Open day at Orkney College sites

An open day tomorrow, Thursday, will let potential students can see what’s on offer at all three of Orkney College UHI’s sites.

Visitors to the main Orkney College UHI building in Kirkwall will be able to take a look around and meet tutors and students. The Nordic studies department, at Kiln Corner, Kirkwall, and the maritime studies department, in Stromness, will also be open.

At the main college building, the hospitality department will serve “sharing platters” in the Overblikk restaurant between 12.30pm and 2pm, and students from the new BA Applied Music degree course will be on hand to entertain throughout the afternoon. All other curriculum areas will have students and staff on hand to welcome visitors.

• Orkney College UHI, East Road, will be open from 12pm to 6pm.
• Centre for Nordic studies, Kiln Corner, will be open from 1pm to 5pm.
• Orkney College UHI maritime department, Stromness, will be open from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
