‘Possible piece of ordnance’ discovered in St Mary’s
Bomb disposal personnel are due to arrive in St Mary’s, after a “possible piece of ordnance” was found along the beach yesterday, Saturday, June 8.
A cordon has been established in the meantime until the object can be examined by explosive ordinance disposal experts.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “On the evening of Saturday, June 8, 2024, we received a report of a possible piece of ordnance found on a beach at Holm, Orkney.
“A cordon has been put in place as a precaution and the EOD will be attending to examine the item.”
