Rita Jamieson receives British Empire Medal

Local charity worker, Rita Jamieson — founder of the Blue Door charity shop — was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to the Community in Orkney recently by Orkney’s Lord Lieutenant, Bill Spence in a ceremony in Kirkwall.

Rita was announced in the New Year Honours list 2018, and she was joined by her family and friends for the event on last Friday, March 16.
