Roadworks in Kirkwall

There will be delays on Kirkwall’s Junction Road over the coming days as the council undertakes road works.

Orkney Islands Council will be laying down high-grip surfacing at either side of the two pedestrian crossings nearby Bruce’s Stores car park and near the bottom of the Clay Loan/Union Street. The works will involve lane closures, short diversions at times, and a “stop-go” system to control flow of traffic.

Works are expected to start today, Wednesday, and carry on until October 15, weather permitting.
