Santa Fun Run — round two!
There’s still time left to sign up to the second annual Santa Fun Run and Walk. Organised in aid of Orkney Deaf Children’s Society.
The event will see folk take to the streets of Kirkwall this Sunday, December 9, for two laps of the town centre.
Last year’s fundraiser saw a throng of jolly Saint Nicks flash their finest red fur coat and long white beards — but elves, reindeer, snowmen, presents are all welcome, say organisers, as entrants are encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
Getting under way at 10.45am with a special Christmas warm up by Katie Rafferty and Barney the Bear, the run/walk will begin at 11am.
Folk are being urged to sign up via the Santa Fun Run event page on Facebook or by visting www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/santa-fun-run-walk-tickets-50576050328
“We are delighted to be able to do the Santa Fun Run this year as it was such good fun last year,” said Pat Robinson of Orkney Deaf Children’s Society.
“Without the sponsorship from Scottish Sea Farms, this would not have been possible.
“There will be no entries on the day due to the paperwork involved, so we urge folk to sign up as soon as possible, as the deadline for entries is December 7.
“If you don’t want to do the fun run, come along to support the entrants and get a cup of tea and a blether!”
Please note there will be no entries available on the day.
