Search continues for missing Orkney woman
The search for an Orkney woman, reported missing from her home in Aberdeenshire yesterday, is due to continue today.
Shona Johnston, 35, was last seen around 1pm on Tuesday, in the Robert Street area of Stonehaven. A black Nissan X-trail vehicle, believed to have been used by Mrs Johnston, was later found parked at Dunnottar Castle.
This sparked a major search operation of the coastline around the castle, involving police, Coastguard, the RNLI and an RAF search-and-rescue helicopter.
It is understood that today, Wednesday, the search will continue, with Coastguard teams and police focusing on the area to the north and south of the castle.
Police Scotland are urging anyone with information that could help with their inquiries to contact them on 101.
Mrs Johnston is described as around 5′ 6″ in height, of slim build, with short, brown hair. When last seen she was wearing blue jeans, ankle boots and possibly a blue zip-up jacket.
