Starving in the UK

Charity cyclist Anna Slizkova from Kiev in the Ukraine, is currently in Orkney as apart of a round the UK cycle, to raise funds for poverty striken Ukrainians living in the war-torn country.

Anna’s challenge is to cycle around the UK, using no money and so far she has found individuals and organisations throughout England and Scotland to be very generous and supportive of her cause, giving her food and accommodation along the way.

The longest Anna has had to go without food is 20 hours, however, she has spent most nights “wild” camping.

Anna left London on July 13 and aims to return to the Ukraine in around three weeks time. She travels to Shetland tomorrow, after three days in Orkney.
