Stromness RNLI called to Graemsay

Stromness lifeboat was launched at on Saturday to evacuate a casualty requiring medical assistance from Graemsay.

Sea conditions in Hoy Sound were calm with a moderate westerly breeze and poor visibility in the mist and drizzle.

The lifeboat arrived alongside the Graemsay pier shortly afterwards and two crew with a lifeboat stretcher accompanied the island’s First Responders to the casualty’s house.

The casualty was brought aboard and the lifeboat returned to Stromness at shortly before 2pm.

Once alongside the pier in Stromness, the Coastguard and ambulance teams took the casualty ashore for treatment.
