Top awards for Orkney food firms

Two Stromness companies won awards at Scotland’s Speciality Food Show, in Glasgow, at the weekend.

Argo’s Bakery won a Best Confectionery, Biscuit and Snack award for its Orkney beremeal shortbread and the Island Smokery received a highly commended accolade for its Orkney butter in the Chilled and Frozen category.

The show was attended by a number of Orkney businesses, who made up a special Orkney Aisles section, showcasing products from the county.

The three-day event ends tomorrow, Tuesday.
