Two men in court on attempted murder charges

Two men appeared, in private, at Kirkwall Sheriff Court yesterday afternoon, on charges of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Twenty-one-year-old Christopher Baird and Graeme Baird, 20, who appeared from custody, made no plea or declaration and were committed for further examination.

Christopher Baird, who also appeared in connection with a charge of assault, was remanded in custody, while Graeme Baird was released on bail.
