Update: emergency situation at The Gloup

HM Coastguard have given the following update on this afternoon’s situation near The Gloup, Deerness.

HM Coastguard received a call from the Scottish Ambulance Service just before 1.30pm this afternoon saying that a person had fallen from a cliff near Gloup, Orkney.

Coastguard rescue teams from St Margaret’s Hope, Stromness and Kirkwall, Kirkwall RNLI, HM Coastguard helicopter from Sumburgh and the Scottish Ambulance Service have all been sent.
