Vehicle damaged on second barrier

The driver of a vehicle damaged crossing the second barrier yesterday was not injured.

A police spokesman said that the car was struck by a wave around 2pm on Thursday afternoon, resulting in a damaged windscreen.

Although the barriers are open to traffic at present, police repeated their plea for motorists to pay particular attention to the conditions before crossing.
