West Mainland polling cards due to arrive next weekend
Voters in the West Mainland should keep an eye out for their polling cards arriving from next Friday, July 17.
A by-election is due take place in the ward on August 18, following the death of Councillor Alistair Gordon.
Potential candidates have until Wednesday, July 15, at 4pm to submit their nomination papers. The list of those standing for election will be published later that day.
If you don’t receive your polling card, you should contact the local Electoral Registration Office on (01856) 876222. The deadline for registering to vote is July 30.
The polling cards will state where your polling station will be. You don’t need your polling card to vote but it will speed the process up on the day.
Anyone registered who wishes to vote by post or proxy, and has not already applied, can do so now by phoning (01856) 876222.
New applications for a postal vote will need to reach the Electoral Registration Office by 5 pm on Friday 31 July.
