Festival of Museums
May 18, 2018Stromness is all set to celebrate the nationwide Festival of Museums, with activities set to take place at the Pier Arts Centre and Stromness Museum, throughout the weekend.
The festival is an annual three-day celebration of history, culture and arts, during which museums of all shapes and sizes across Scotland host special events to showcase their unique collections and programmes.

LGBTQ+ Meet & Greet
May 19, 2018 12:00 pm - 4:00 pmA new local group is aiming to provide folk who identify as LGBTQ+ with a safe space to socialise, find support, and raise awareness.
NetworQ North is set to host its first event, a relaxed and informal gathering, in the foyer of Kirkwall Town Hall, this Saturday, May 19, from 12 noon – 4pm.
“At the moment, it’s just a group of pals who also happen to be on a committee together,” explained NetworQ North chairperson, Amber Kennedy.
“We are hoping to expand and provide LGBTQ+ folk in Orkney and allies with a good place where they can find likeminded people.”
