Stronsay's Massive Weekend
August 18, 2018A new event is set to hit Stronsay this Saturday and Sunday, as the island celebrates it’s inaugural MASSIVE Weekend.
With Stronsay set to be buzzing with fun activities for all the family, organisers have hopes of recreating the same atmosphere which once swept the island during its annual Gala Weekend, which was discontinued in 2007.
This new event will see sports for all abilities, inflatables, tours of the island, a float parade, and much more. Alison Fraser, one of the organisers behind Stronsay’s MASSIVE Weekend, explained that, though there have been some small events organised since the Gala Weekends ended, there has been a real desire by islanders to resurrect the full weekend programme.
