Work underway at Papdale Halls of Residence
Work is being undertaken at the Papdale Halls of Residence, to replace fascia, soffit and barge boards on the exterior of the building.
According to Orkney Islands Council, this is to address a problem affecting the finish of the boards. Scaffolding is currently being put up at the hostel and, to minimise disruption, the work will be carried out while pupils are at school.
The council have also said that the work is being dealt with by Galliford Try — the company that has the responsibility to design, build and maintain the facilities built as part of Orkney Islands Council’s Schools Investment Programme — and, as a result, there is no cost involved for the council.
