Young folk try their hands at dialect mural

Young folk who use Kirkwall’s Youth Cafe — joined by members of Stromness Senior Youth Club — will get the chance to put their own stamp on it this week as they help to create a new mural for the facility.

The mural will be based on Orcadian dialect, with the inspiration coming from the Scottish Parliament building’s own dialect murals.  Local artist Alex Green will be on hand to help out.

A launch night will be held in the Youth Cafe tomorrow evening, Friday, from 7pm – 9pm, with workshops also taking place with the Stromness Senior Youth Club.
