New police chief warns against scam callers

Police are urging islanders to be alert to the risk of fraud with numerous individuals and businesses having fallen victim to scams in recent weeks.

Speaking last week, Chief Inspector Ali Garrow said that just over £2,000 had been lost to scammers over the last couple of weeks, and further attempts were made that could have resulted in the loss of a further £6,000.
