Ayre Road sealed off by police

Part of  Kirkwall remained sealed off by police this morning, Sunday, as enquiries take place in the Ayre Road area.

A spokesman said that police in Orkney are conducting enquiries following concerns being raised for a member of the public.

Police also said that a woman has been taken to the Balfour Hospital and is under the care of medical staff.
No further details are available at this time.

Speaking shortly before 10.30am, the police spokesman also said that it was expected that the roads in the area would reopen later this morning.
