Back home for a solo performance
Former Orkney Camerata member, violinist Aaron McGregor, is to appear as concerto soloist in a Camerata concert tomorrow, Sunday.
Aaron, who is studying on a joint MMus course at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and Glasgow University, will feature as soloist in the centrepiece of the Camerata concert — Telemann’s Violin Concerto in F.
He will then join Camerata players for the Sonata on Scottish Tunes by the 18th century Scottish composer James Oswald.
The ensemble will also perform a mix of music for strings, flute and oboes, including symphonies by the English composer William Boyce, folk song arrangements by Percy Grainger, Mozart’s Divertimento in F and Appalachia Dance by American composer Mark O’Connor.
The concert takes place in St Magnus Cathedral tomorrow, Sunday, at 7.30pm.
