Barriers closed overnight due to damage

Reports are coming in regarding damage to the metal railings at the second Churchill barrier.

According to police, the barriers are likely to remain closed for the rest of this evening.

“Due to significant damage the barriers are likely to be closed all night as it is unsafe to pass,” a police spokesperson tweeted.

“A convoy system will be in place until 2100 hours, starting ASAP, to allow for back log of traffic through.”
