Billy’s Night Oot

Another Orkney Production have announced that Scottish BAFTA winner Janet McBain, former curator of the Scottish Screen Archive, is this year’s special guest for their annual Billy’s Night Oot, archive film festival, which is set to take place next weekend.

Ms McBain, —who is also well-known as a presenter on television programme, The Way It Was — will present, Desert Islands Films!, a personal selection of some of her favourite films from the national collection.

The programme covers the whole of Scotland and features an Orkney film that has not been seen for many years.

The show takes place over three nights — September 25 at the Pickaquoy Centre, September 26 at the Cromarty Hall in St Margaret’s Hope and September 27 at the Gable End Theatre in Hoy.
