Birsay end 34-year Parish Cup wait

Birsay ended 34 years of pain and hurt as they lifted The Orcadian Parish Cup for the first time since 1984, with a 3-1 win over St Andrews.
Played in front of a huge crowd at the Picky on a balmy summer’s evening, goals from Scott Flett, Darren Heddle and Scott Smith sent the vocal and colourful Birsay support delirious, as the West Mainlanders celebrated a fourth Parish Cup success.
Logan Peace scored a consolation for St Andrews, but it was too little too late as Birsay completed a deserved triumph.
