Book launch

A new title from local author, Spencer Rosie, Saints and Sinners, Memorial of St Magnus Cathedral has been launched this weekend.

The book was officially launched last night at the St Magnus Centre in Kirkwall, and the author will be signing copies again today, until 3pm, in The Orcadian Bookshop.

The book follows many years of research of the memorials of The Cathedral. It’s author, Spencer Rosie has discovered that those immortalised in this revered Viking Cathedral do indeed include Saints and Sinners; both the very good and the very bad. The book tells their life stories, details the tombstones’ heraldic inscriptions and explains some of the strange symbolism.

Saints and Sinners is one of three new titles published by The Orcadian, and is available now.
