Book Week Scotland 2014
Book Week Scotland 2014 runs from November 24 – 30, and there is set to be events for all ages at Orkney Library & Archive.
Activities have a distinctly Northern Isles flavour this year, with three Orcadian authors, plus a Shetland based murder mystery on offer. The library will also be open longer during the week, with extended hours until 7pm on Wednesday, November 26 and Friday, November 28.
Book Week will explore a variety of topics including folklore and storytelling, the truth about pirates, illustrations and stories for children and information on library services for the visually impaired.
One of the highlights takes place on Friday, November 28, when there will be a body in the library, as the audience is transported to Shetland for Murder at the Ravenswick Hotel.
This interactive murder mystery evening has been written by Ann Cleeves, author of the popular Shetland series, and will be performed by Orkney’s own Palace Players.
