Boths sides ‘hopeful’ of airport pay dispute resolution
Highlands and Islands Airport Ltd (HIAL) and the trade union Prospect say they are hopeful of resolving a pay dispute after talks this week.
Security staff represented by the trade union previously voted to take two-day industrial action starting on April 7.
Despite the 48-hour walkout operations across HIAL’s 11 airports, including Kirkwall, remained largely unaffected, although security staff have since been working to rule.
On Wednesday, a joint statement from both sides said: “HIAL met with Prospect today to discuss potential solutions to the recent dispute. These discussions are ongoing and both parties remain hopeful of finding a solution.”
