Break-in at Kirkwall GP practice
A quantity of drugs and money were taken after the Heilendi practice, in Kirkwall, was broken into overnight.
According to NHS Orkney, contingency plans were put into operation this morning which allowed patients to access services while the police carried out forensic checks. The practice reopened at noon.
Members of the public are asked to be aware that the medicines stolen are dangerous in the wrong hands, and to contact the police station on 101 if they find any vials of drugs or notice anything suspicious.
Meanwhile, Police Scotland are asking householders in the vicinity of the Scapa Crescent practice to check their gardens and outside areas and report if they have found any form of medication.
