Broadband upgrade for Kirkwall network

Kirkwall is one of nine towns in Scotland to be upgraded to a new, high-speed communications network by BT.

BT’s Ethernet technology allows businesses and organisations to opt for the guaranteed broadband speed of their choice over their own dedicated line. Customers can choose Ethernet speeds between one megabit per second (Mbps) and ten gigabits per second (Gbits), depending on their needs.

The upgrade is due to be completed by spring 2012.
