Businesses urged to be vigilant over Paypoint scam

Police in Orkney are urging shopkeepers and businesses to be vigilant, following a reported scam involving UKCASH vouchers on Paypoint machines.

Calls are being received from people claiming to be from Paypoint seeking to remove expired vouchers from store Paypoint machines.

However, it would appear the callers intention is to gain voucher codes to redeem them in exchange for cash.

Officers are urging shop staff and owners to ignore the calls and report any activity to the police on 01856 872241 or on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
