Call for cathedral graffiti volunteers
A project to extensively detail and record historic carvings and markings in Kirkwall’s famous St Magnus Cathedral will launch next week.
The St Magnus Graffiti Project will begin with a special information session next Tuesday evening, January 22 at 7pm, at the cathedral.
The project, run by the Orkney Archaeology Society, will record markings inside and outside the cathedral, with the society keen to hear from volunteers interested in helping in the delivery of the project.
Free training workshops will take place on January 26, February 5 and February 9 for prospective volunteers, providing the skills required to play their part in this innovative project.
