Child car seat checks postponed

Orkney Islands Council has advised that next week’s child car seat checking event in Kirkwall has been postponed.

The event was to raise awareness of incorrectly fitted — or inappropriate — child car seats. It followed the discovery, last year, that 71 per cent of child car seats were not safely fitted or incompatible with the child or vehicle.

It was due to take place in the Tesco car park on Tuesday, June 28, but will now be rescheduled
