Cinema release date announced for The Outrun

A cinematic release date has been announced for Papay-set blockbuster, The Outrun.

The movie, an adaption of Orkney writer Amy Liptrot’s bestselling memoir, will be released in cinemas across the UK & Ireland this September.

Starring four-time Oscar nominated Saoirse Ronan, the film charts the journey of Rona, a fictionalised version of Amy — from past troubles and addiction, through hedonism, to hope and healing.

Debuting to critical acclaim at Sundance and the Berlin International Film Festival earlier in the year, The Outrun was adapted for the screen by Nora Fingscheidt in collaboration with Liptrot.

Now, film production and distribution company, Studiocanal, has announced that the UK and Irish theatrical release date for The Outrun will be Friday, September 27, 2024.
