Come and lend a hand at the Queen’s Baton Relay
The council is looking for some helping hands when the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay comes to Orkney.
The relay will arrive in Orkney on July 10, and travel through a number of communities across the West Mainland, the East Mainland and the linked South Isles.
As with the Olympic Torch relay event in 2012, it’s expected that the public will be out in force to view the baton, so volunteer stewards, marshals and other helpers will be required on the day.
If you or your organisation would like to get involved on the day, please contact Janette Bews at Orkney Islands Council on 873535 ext 2415 or email janette.bews@orkney.gov.uk
