Council webcasting debate postponed

A debate on whether or not to webcast council meetings has been postponed until later this month.

The matter was due to be discussed by the OIC’s asset management sub-committee this week but will now take place at the next meeting of the policy and resources committee on November 27.

The sub-committee moved to go with the recommendations in the report before them, which was for a consultation to be carried out with elected members, staff and the public on the implications of, and demand for, webcasting, including electronic voting.

A more detailed report will be provided to the policy and resources committee.
