Court case referred to Inverness
A 27-year-old man, who appeared from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court this afternoon, is due to be sentenced in Inverness next month.
Carl James Howley pleaded guilty to breaching a court order by purchasing alcohol from a shop in Burray, on June 13, and  failing to present himself to police officers at his bail address, on June 20.
Howley, whose address was given in court papers as Flat 3, 6 Gunns Close, Kirkwall, also changed his plea regarding a separate charge and admitted breaching a curfew bail condition, set at Inverness Sheriff Court, on January 15, this year.
Sentence was deferred on Howley until July 14, for reports, and the matter was referred to Inverness Sheriff Court. He was remanded in custody.
