Cruise ship ties up at Copland’s Dock

The final cruise liner of the 2014 season to visit Orkney arrived in Stromness this morning, Tuesday.

The Hanseatic also became the fist cruise ship to tie up at Copland’s Dock when she arrived from Staffa, in the Inner Hebrides, earlier this morning. She is due to sail for Leith this afternoon.

The vessel is a five star expedition ship which visits some of the most remote locations on earth, ranging from the Antarctic region, to the islands of the Pacific. The vessels also explores in the northern areas, visiting Alaska and Siberia, depending on the time of year.

The 122m ship, which has the capacity to carry 188 passengers called into Stromness while on a 13 day round UK cruise, which began, and is set to end, in Hamburg, Germany.
