Development committee bound for Sanday
People in Sanday will be able to put questions to Orkney Islands Council’s development and infrastructure committee at a special meeting next week.
Members of the committee are spending the day in Sanday on Thursday, August 21.
“Our day in Sanday follows visits to Hoy, Shapinsay, Rousay and North Ronaldsay earlier this year,” said committee chairman, Councillor James Stockan.
“Like those visits, this is an opportunity for people in Sanday to talk to us about matters and concerns unique to their community, and to discuss current and future issues which are likely to feature on the committee’s agenda in the months and years ahead.
“For the committee, it’s a valuable opportunity to hear direct from people on Sanday about the key challenges and opportunities for the island and to better understand the community’s aspirations.
“We’ve had good representation from the community at the other isles’ visits – I’d urge Sanday folk to similarly come along and help everyone get the most from this visit.”
