Don’t be tricked by bogus office supplies
Orkney Islands Council’s Trading Standards team is warning local businesses and organisations to be wary of payment demands being received from Office Max.
A number of local organisations have received payment demands for business packages, ranging from €595 to over €1,200. The claims are coming from Office Max located in both Spain and Montenegro.
Trading Standards manager, Gary Foubister, said: “The invoices look official and the sender evidently has an accurate database containing the contact details of local businesses and organisations, as both the addresses and the named individuals connected to them are accurate.”
“We would urge local businesses to be vigilant and not to pay these invoices in error.”
Anyone with concerns should contact the Trading Standards team on (01856) 873535 or email trading.standards@orkney.gov.uk.
