Educators and employers host Orkney Careers Fair

Businesses, public authorities, and educational institutions have gathered at the Pickaquoy Centre arena today, Tuesday, to help folk make decisions for the future.

The Orkney Careers Fair, has been organised by Skills Development Scotland and Developing Young Workforce (DYW) Orkney, with the aim of giving folk an insight into the opportunities they have to develop their skills at home and away.

“We’ve set up this careers fair today, which is has local employers exhibiting alongside education and training providers,” explained Rachel Scarth, project manager at DYW Orkney.

“This gives the viewpoint of everything that’s on offer in terms of career pathways and the different careers that are available in Orkney for young people and older people to consider.”

The fair will be on until 6pm.
