Emergency group update . . .

The Orkney Local Emergency Coordinating Group met at 4pm for an update on the situation with communications in the county following last night’s lightning storms.

Phone networks now appear to be back up and running, apart from in North Ronaldsay.  This is being worked on.  In the meantime, in an emergency, folk on the island should contact Special Constable Ian Deyell.

Anyone outwith North Ronaldsay who is experiencing issues with their phone, should contact BT in the first instance to make them aware of the problem.
