Extended hours at Kirkwall police station

The opening hours of the Kirkwall police station are to be extended — as part of a country-wide alteration to public counter services announced by Police Scotland today, Friday.

From March 3, the Kirkwall counter will be open from 7am to midnight, seven days a week. At the moment, it is  open from 8am until 8pm. This follows a Police Scotland analysis, which showed the Kirkwall station receives almost as many visitors as the station in Inverness.

In Stromness, the “shared service” will be available from 9am to 12.30pm, Monday to Friday.
