Fire and Police services called to Stromness car fire
The Police and Fire services attended to an incident at North End Road in Stromness, this morning, Thursday, after a Volkswagen car caught fire close to the swimming pool.
According to a spokeswoman at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, a fire engine was called to the scene, where two breathing apparatus and a hose were then used in extinguishing the blaze.
Though the spokeswoman has said that the engine of the car and 20 per cent of its interior has been destroyed, an officer at Kirkwall Police Station has confirmed that no one was injured and no suspicious activity is suspected.
