A group of West Mainland women will dig deep tomorrow morning and rely on flower power to help push a bed 14 miles in memory of their beloved friend.

The charity push will see the bed take to the roads and travel between Stromness and Birsay to raise money for the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The event, which will precede a Family Fun Day and dance in Birsay, has been organised in memory of florist Ingie Breck, by some of her closest friends.

The push is set to kick off at 9am and the route will head down the Sandwick Road out of Stromness, up Voy, right at Sandwick junction to Dounby, then past Greeny, by Twatt, and on to Birsay.

Moral support and donations during the push are welcome.

The Family Fun Day will start at 2pm in the Birsay Hall, before a dance in the hall from 8.30pm, with music from Bad Apple.
