Football league structure change agreed
Orkney’s top flight football league will soon be increased to a ten-team division.
Members at last night’s Orkney Amateur Football Association AGM unanimously agreed that relegation should be scrapped in the upcoming 2012 season, with two teams promoted from the ‘B’ League.
This would create a ten-team league in 2013, along with a return to the “one up one down” promotion and relegation format.
Also at last night’s meeting, Edgar Balfour was returned unopposed as OAFA president, with John Copland re-elected vice-president. Inga Foubister retained her position as secretary and Fraser Balfour was re-elected as treasurer.
