Government confirm new £70 million hospital and dental centre for Orkney

Orkney is to get a new £70 million pound hospital and dental centre, it was announced today.

The Scottish Government has revealed its infrastructure investment plan for across the Highlands and Islands.

Cabinet secretary for infrastructure and capital investment Alex Neil said: “Investing in our infrastructure is absolutely vital to grow our economy.

“Today’s infrastructure investment plan demonstrates exactly how, when and what we will invest in to deliver that goal, bringing substantial benefits for all of Scotland.

“These are the projects that will make a real difference economically — driving growth, supporting jobs and delivering a lasting legacy of generations to come.

“In the Highland and Islands it will deliver millions of pounds of investment, making a real difference for local economies and communities.”
