Grants to get communities moving

Orkney Islands Council is inviting community groups to apply for funding for transport projects in the financial year 2014/15, through the Enhanced Demand Responsive Transport Initiative (EDRTI).

The purpose of the EDRTI scheme is to assist community groups to provide and deliver transport services where conventional public transport services are not available or readily accessible.

Community transport groups are expected to raise part of the costs of their scheme themselves – for example through fares and other forms of revenue, collecting donations or by successful application to other funding sources.
