Grants up for grabs for solid wall insulation

A new Scottish Government scheme is encouraging Orkney householders to invest in solid wall insulation.

Interest free loans of up to £15,000, repayable over up to 10 years, are available to all Orkney homeowners on a first-come, first-served basis until end March 2012.

In addition, Orkney home owners may be eligible for a grant towards the cost of solid wall insulation. And, through the pilot scheme, the Energy Saving Trust has arranged discounted prices with local installers, netting Orcadians further savings.
