Harray event will focus on future challenges for Orkney beef
An event to discuss future challenges for Orkney beef is being held at Maesquoy Farm in Harray at 10.30am on Tuesday, November 1.
Organisers, the Scottish Agricultural College, say that everything from “taste to temperament” will be put under the spotlight during the special event for anyone involved in the beef production chain.
A morning on the farm, courtesy of Edwin Sinclair, will be followed by afternoon sessions in the Harray Hall where, among other things, farmers can try their hand as meat tasters.
The event is supported by Orkney Beef Ltd, Birsay Farmers, Orkney Auction Mart, Scotbeef Ltd, and J W Tait. It will be opened by Jonathan Cowens, SAC director of consulting.
