Housing and transport minister visits Orkney

Keith Brown MSP, minister for housing and transport, is scheduled to arrive in Orkney later today.

Tomorrow, the minister will take a tour of Stromness harbour, where chairman of the OIC’s development and infrastructure committee, James Stockan, and executive director of development and infrastructure, Gavin Barr, will outline the planned new infrastructure developments in the town.

Mr Brown will also be sitting in on a meeting with the council’s transportation team to look at the potential for a smart ticketing pilot in Orkney.  He’ll round off his visit with a trip around the new housing development at the Peerie Sea Loan, a joint project between Orkney Islands Council and Orkney Housing Association.
